وصف البرنامج

قسم شبكات الحاسوب متخصص في دراسة شبكات الحاسوب إبتداءا من معرفة أنواع الشبكات و أهميتها و كيفية تصميمها و الألية المتبعة في التصميم مرورا بمعرفة البروتوكولات التي تعمل في هذه الشبكات و طرق برمجتها  و أخيرا قياس الجودة للشبكات و طريقة تصميم و إدراة هذه الشبكات و كيفية حمايتها و الاليات و البروتوكولات المستخدمة للحماية و ينتهي هذا البرنامج بمشروع تخرج يقوم به الطالب ليعطي خلاصة ما تعلمه خلال هذه الفترة من الدراسة .

أهداف البرنامج

1- إعداد الكفاءات و المهارات العلمية في مجال الشبكات لتلبية حاجات المجتمع .

2- تقديم الاستشارات الفنية لمؤسسات الدولة و المجتمع المدني.

3- إنشاء شراكات مع المؤسسات التعليمية المناضرة و المؤسسات العاملة في مجال تقنية المعلومات لدعم برامجنا التعليمية والتدريبية .

إقامة المؤتمرات و الندوات و ورشات العمل و الدورات في مختلف مجالات تقنية المعلومات بشكل عام و ومجال الشبكات بشكل خاص .

مخرجات البرنامج

يتخرج الطالب من قسم الشبكات و هو على دراية كافية بأنواع الشبكات و طرق تصميمها و إدارتها و حماية هذه الشبكات لكي يستطيع تصميم و إدارة شبكات مختلفة و معرفة أي نوع من هذه الشبكات يمكنه الاستفادة منها في مجال عمله .

محتويات البرنامج

يحتوي البرنامج الدراسي على 135 وحدة دراسية وتنقسم المقررات الدراسية الى مقررات اجبارية ومقررات جامعية مقررات اختيارية يحتاج الطالب الى دراسة عدد 36 وحدة تخصصية وعدد 72 وحدة من المقررات العامة، وعدد 15 وحدة اختيارية. فيما يلي الخطة الدراسية للمقررات الدراسية موزعة على المدة الدراسية المقررة للبرنامج.

This course introduces the student to different heuristic techniques that aid programmers and computer scientists in solving problems. The course uses classical math and word problems for generating potential solutions to ''real-life'' problems encountered in the profession, and problem solving in teams. They will become familiar with the variety of design and evaluation methods used in interaction design, and will get experience with these methods in their project. Students taking this course will be aware of all details about standard protocols that are used to take care about multimedia transportation from end-to-end in Internet. Furthermore, an introduction to quality of service and traffic engineering is covered in this course. Topics covered in this course include: review of standard TCP/IP protocol structure; standard multimedia protocols such as: session initiation protocol (SIP);session description protocol (SDP); real time transport protocol (RTP);real time control protocol (RTCP); real time streaming protocol (RTSP); resource reservation protocol (RSVP) and H.323 protocol; MPLS protocol and multimedia; study different multimedia applications such as VOIP; video conferencing and IPTV; introduction of traffic engineering and quality of service in IP networks; finally network analysis case study with OPNET tool.

QoS architectures for the Internet including IntServ, RSVP, and Diffserv; different classes of services and their QoS requirements; algorithms to provide QoS, traffic policing and traffic shaping algorithms; leaky bucket algorithms; algorithms to provide QoS locally including scheduling algorithms (FIFO, RR, WRR), queuing algorithms (RED, WRED, RIO, CBQ); classification of routing protocols in communication networks from the QoS perspective, routing protocols for ad hoc networks and QoS offered by each one; understanding the effect of QoS parameters (delay, jitter delay, percentage of packet losses, throughput) and QoS metrics (distance, available bandwidth, delay, jitter delay, losses, load) on the network performance.
